Richael D. McClure, Ph.D.

Dr. McClure received a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Austin with emphasis in Executive School Leadership. With 30 years K-12, post-secondary and research experience, Dr. McClure has served as teacher, campus and district administrator, researcher and educational consultant. While Project Director for the Texas Education Agency (TEA) at the Charles A. Dana Center, University of Texas at Austin, she conducted research in high-performing Title I schools in Texas and nationally, most notably 26 Successful Schools Study and Hope for Urban Education Study. Contracted by TEA for six consecutive years, she led the annual review of exemplary schools eligible for the USDE National Title I Texas Distinguished Schools Recognition Program, presenting her findings at national and state conferences. As an educational consultant, Dr. McClure has guided Title I Stage 2-5 schools through the School Improvement Process (SIP) as a Technical Assistant Provider (TAP), delivered Just for the Kids training and tools to Dallas ISD schools as a Field Trainer, appraised principals at Region 10 for the Principal Assessment Center, and advised alternative certification teacher interns as a Field Supervisor. With a comprehensive, first-hand knowledge of effective programs, Dr. McClure is well positioned to provide resources to Even Start Programs in ways that will ensure program efficiency, foster literacy and increase meaningful opportunities for families.
