Dr. Owens is currently Associate Professor, in the college of education’s department of Educational Administration. Dr. Owens teaches courses in research design, evaluation and educational statistics. He has had extensive experience in program assessment and evaluation, and has been recognized on the local and national level for his work in this area. On the local level, he has served as Assessment Coordinator for the College of Education in their preparation for NCATE accreditation. On the national level, he has served as a grant evaluator for the National Science Foundation and as Program Chair for the American Evaluation Association special interest group Multicultural Issues in Program Evaluation. Please also note his strong research skills, as demonstrated by his authoring over 20 publications and 10 book chapters. His research expertise includes qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods. He is also fluent in the following statistical software programs; SAS, SPSS, Systat, EQS, and MLwin.
