Summary Tables of Texas Adult Education Content Standards & Benchmarks

Below are Summary Tables of the Texas Adult Education Content Standards and Benchmarks. Mary Jo Ochoa at the Far West GREAT Center created these “condensed versions” of those found in the Implementation Guide to provide teachers with a Quick Reference Guide for daily classroom use. All benchmarks are listed and organized by strand, but only one example activity is given for each benchmark.

The ESL Content Standards and the ABE/ASE Content Standards are arranged two different ways:

One version is arranged by the 6 levels showing all of the content standards and benchmarks for each level on one page.
The other version is arranged by Content Standard (Multi-level) showing the strands and benchmarks for all 6 levels of one content standard on one page. Teachers can then easily examine the educational progression from level to level for each of the strands of a particular content standard.

Please notice that at the bottom of each of the 4 sections below, there is a PDF file containing that entire section as one document. The PDF document can be downloaded and printed.
