Students work in groups to recreate the letter.

Students read the recreated letter to the instructor.

Introduction

Cut sentences out of a letter to the editor.

Say: These sentences make-up a letter to the editor.

Say: Your assignment is to recreate the letter by placing the sentences in correct order.

Main Activity

Distribute the sentences to the students. Have students work in groups to assemble the letter in correct sentence order.

Closure/Conclusion

Have the students read their finished work out loud for unity and coherence.

Follow-up lessons/Activities

Have students write a letter to the editor on a topic of their choice.
