Introduction

Applying for a job is a challenging process for the adult learner. This activity requires students to apply for a position from a selection of positions, determine the best resume for the position, fill out a job application for the position, and write an appropriate cover letter for the position.

Vocabulary

Activity

Each student will be able to read through a variety of job descriptions and resumes, and be able to cross-reference them. Once the student matches a resume with the appropriate job descriptions, and the student will then complete a job application based on the information from the resume.

Complete job application based on your own skills.

Real-Life Connection

Role-play a job interview where student must answer several questions using irregular verb forms.

Bridges Accommodations

Pair off students into groups of two's and edit each other’s conversations. The student can use written and oral communication, as well as use a checklist of the proper, common and irregular verb.

Benchmark Assessment

Quiz of 10 irregular verbs. Could be closed format.
