Activity/Procedures:

Warm-up: Review pictures and vocabulary from part one.

Introduction:

A. Audiotape of actual 911 emergency! Demonstrate a 911 phone call.
B. Introduce new vocabulary and drill.
C. Present dialog or text: prepare students for practice reporting emergencies.

  1. Help victim
  2. Use phone
  3. Call 911 and report

Put in mixed level groups of 3 or 4. Write a dialog showing how to respond to an emergency and report it.

Guest speakers from fire, police, poison control

Evaluation/Assessment

  1. Ask and discuss: what happened? How could it be prevented?
  2. Matching type quiz putting pictures with appropriate responses.
