Activity/Procedures

(Prior Knowledge): Alphabet, vowel sounds, introductions, greetings, and politeness.

A: Beach Ball (Literacy Level)- Introduce yourself and ask questions, and pass the ball.

Example: Hello, my name is…   What is yours?

Enrichment/ Extension (Ask them to choose a word that starts with the first letter of their name like Apple-Ann ...)

B: Microphone Activity (Intermediate Level) - Extend introductions and personal information.

Example: I am from…

I came to the U.S. to…

C: Mary-Go-Round (Intermediate/Advanced level)-

Form two circles (inner and outer) and give questions to ask.

(A and B): For higher-level groups.

Provide forms for writing questions and answers.

Evaluation/Assessment

Use benchmarks / Demonstrate skills. (oral and written). Use goals in book. (unit assigned)

Grammatical Focus

Personal pronouns, questions/forming questions, using (who, what when where, why) Informative questions.
