Objective

Student will be able to understand the educational system in the U.S.

Vocabulary

immunization, application, proof of residence, current, previous, birth certificate, sibling, emergency contact, attendance, registrar.

Activity/Procedures

1. Students answer questions from instructors regarding summer vacations.
2. Students copy conversation from board simulating a parent trying to enroll their child in school.
3. Students learn the vocabulary definitions. Students practice pronunciation.
4. Student receives a copy of school district form from instructor
5. Students select a partner to role-play the dialogue previously written.
6. Using an overhead projector, students and instructor fill forms step by step.

Evaluation/Assessment

Students fill out a free lunch application on their own.
