Activity/Procedures Warm-Up : This activity is designed for the first class day. The teacher welcomes students, introduces self, and sets stage for the class and activity. Introduction: The teacher explains the activity - an orientation to each other. Activity: Students form a circle; they are wearing pre-made nametags. There is a repetition of names going around the circle. Each student states their name and then the names of the others in the class in round-robin fashion. For re-enforcement: Have each student toss a small beanbag to classmate saying name as they do so. This may be extended by alphabetizing, writing name with proper capitalization, etc. Extension of Unit:

Evaluation/Assessment Students are successful in remembering names; there is carry-over in that they use names in conversation with each other. |
