Figure 1 shows the distribution of taskforce members based on their self-identified roles in adult education. There were 34 total individuals particpiating. The graph demonstrates the number of participants in each category. There were 18 instructors, 5 administrators and programs directors, 4 consultants, and 7 representatives from the Getting Results Educating Adults in Texas (GREAT) centers participating.

Figure 2 summarizes how many writing teams members were in each of the three writing teams, speaking/listening, reading/writing, and math.  14 practitioners that volunteered to write benchmarks for the standards Speak So Others Can Understand and Listen Actively; 8 practitioners volunteered to write the benchmarks for the standards Read With Understanding and Convey Ideas in Writing; and 6 practitioners volunteered to write benchmarks for the Use Math to Solve Problems and Communicate standard.

Figure 3 summarizes how many instructors field-tested each of the standards. 6 participated in Listen Actively; 5 participated in Use Math to Solve Problems and Communicate; 6 participated inSpeak So Others Can Understand; 5 participated in Read With Understanding.

Figure 4 summarizes how many instructors field-tested each of the standards. 6 participated in ESL Convey Ideas in Writing; 8 participated in Use Math to Solve Problems and Communicate; 6 participated in ESL Read with Understanding; 6 participated in Listen Actively; 7 participated in Speak So Others Can Understand; 5 participated in Read With Understanding.

Figure 5 summarizes how many Standards Specialists are in each GREAT Center region they provide professional development to. There are 5 in North, 2 in South, 1 in East, 2 in West, 5 Far West, 9 South Central, 2 in Central and 5 in Coastal regions.

Figure 6 summarizes the number of instructors and administrators that attended the June 2007 conference. In total, there were 723 attendees registered at this conference.  649 of these attendees were administrators and teachers from adult education programs throughout Texas: 193 were administrators/program directors and 456 were teachers.  Of the 456 teachers attending: 228 taught ESL courses and 228 taught ABE and ASE courses.
