Materials: Handouts, paper, graphic organizer, overheard projector

The Lesson Plan

Introduce the lesson:
“Have you ever…?” discussion. Teacher will tell a personal story

Teach the lesson:
Activity handout (attached). The teacher models (web) with write-along story.

Practice the lesson:
Students choose one of the “Have you ever..?” topics (attached). Students organize thoughts on their web and write a rough draft about their experience.

Assess the lesson:
Lesson assessed by reading paragraph to class. Teacher observation and feedback.

Apply the lesson to the real world:
Write a paragraph to share at home.
