Objective: To write a list of items to purchase at the grocery store.
Materials: Grocery store flyers, pencils, paper, overhead projector, vis-à-vis marker, damp paper towel(s).

Introduce the lesson:
Using the overhead projector and a flyer form the grocery store, model making a small list of items to purchase at the grocery store and how much they will cost.
Teach the lesson:
In complete sentences, have students talk about the things they are going to buy at the grocery stores. Have available flyers for each student.
Practice the lesson:
Have students make a list on paper of things from the grocery store flyers they need to buy and how much the items will cost.
Assess the lesson:
Teacher observation and feedback of students assessing complete sentence usage. .
Apply the lesson to the real world:
Have students understand that making a grocery list helps to organize thoughts helping them not to forget the items they needed to buy. Encourage them to practice making lists at home.
