Objective: To illustrate student’s comprehension of simple steps and instructions.

Materials: Party invitations, maps and pens/pencils

Estimated time needed to prepare for this lesson plan: 15-30 minutes

Estimated time needed to complete this lesson plan: 45-1 hour

The Lesson Plan

Introduce the lesson:
Students will examine sample party invitations as well as maps. .

Teach the lesson:
Students will discuss the elements of the invitation pertaining to date, time, location, etc.

Practice the lesson:
Students will work in pairs to create an invitation and map directions to the party destination

Assess the lesson:
Instructor and peer evaluation through oral feedback.

Apply the lesson to the real world:
Students can apply this lesson to the real world by learning to use proper invitation etiquette for parties, showers, etc.
