Adult Literacy Education (ALE) Wiki – Learn about adult literacy education or add knowledge from your experience teaching adult learners, from research or professional wisdom, or from your experience as an adult learner. This community of practice has links to research for practitioners, researchers, learners and other adult literacy educators, including English language learning, numeracy, and adult basic and secondary education.

Home Buying Guides - The Fannie Mae Foundation is committed to helping more first-time home buyers learn what it takes to buy a home. Guides offered in a variety of languages include: Knowing and Understanding Your Credit; Opening the Door to a Home of Your Own; Choosing the Mortgage That's Right for You; and Borrowing Basics: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You.

Making Money Work! - In conjunction with the National Endowment for Financial Education and the Bank of America, Women Work! developed this free financial literacy curriculum to meet the unique needs faced by women in transition, thereby improving their chances of economic stability.

Money Smart - This financial education resource from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is intended to serve individuals who may be unfamiliar with the benefits of having a relationship with an insured depository institution. Topics include: an introduction to bank services; an introduction to credit; how to choose and keep a checking account; how to keep track of your money; why you should save; your rights as a consumer; how your credit history will affect your credit future; how to make a credit card work for you; know what you're borrowing before you buy; and what home ownership is all about. The Clearinghouse Library has loan copies in binder form in English and Spanish, available to Texas educators.

Project SELF: Self Esteem for Life Fulfillment - The Kansas State Board of Education developed these activities and materials to raise learners' self esteem and confidence. Lessons use a problem-solving approach, integrating self esteem and daily living skills used in social interaction, employment, learning, and family life. The Clearinghouse distributes free hard copies to Texas educators.

Study Aids - Lone Star College has compiled this page linking to resources that provide students with advice on developing study skills and dealing with test anxiety. The information on this site could be very useful for adult education students making the transition to postsecondary.

The Change Agent – This biannual newspaper for adult educators and learners has been published since 1994 by the New England Literacy Resource Center at World Education. The Change Agent is non-profit and provides a wealth of advertising-free, ready-to-use lessons, writings, math activities, and graphics. It can be downloaded free with site registration, and inexpensive print subscriptions are available as well.

UBUYACAR - Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction developed this resource beginning with the problem statement, "You are interested in purchasing a new vehicle. What should your annual salary be to afford the car you want?" Student Manual guides students to understand the problem, devise a plan to use the Internet to research the problem, carry out the plan using mathematical operations, and evaluate their solution. Tutor Manual provides an overview of the tutor/teacher's role in problem-based learning, the problem-solving process, suggestions, questions, and resources. The Clearinghouse distributes free hard copies to Texas educators.
