WHEN TAKING TESTS REMEMBER . . . .
  • You are not a victim when it comes to taking tests.
  • You need a test-wise positive attitude when you are taking courses.
  • Tests do not measure your worth as a person.
  • Develop mnemonic devices.
  • Create time lines to learn about the events in history.
  • Participate in study groups.
  • Complete the questions at the end of your chapters in the textbook.
  • Visit your teachers.
  • Write sample essays and sample questions.
  • Pay attention to instructor's hints, especially about two weeks before an exam.
  • Review by changing your point of view.
  • Two mistakes commonly made with multiple choice - under reading and over reading.
  • Arrive on time.
  • Bring two pens, preferably erasable, or two pencils, sharpened.
  • Don't be concerned with what other students are doing.
  • Change your answers only if you are sure you made an error, first reactions tend to be the correct ones.
  • Get word to your instructor whenever anything keeps you from attending class or taking a test.
