Strategies to Manage Forces

  • 1) Discuss what a "strategy" is and what an "action step" is. Give examples for various forces. Discuss the tracking boxes under each step. If a strategy requires more than three steps, use the back of the page.
  • 2) Have the student describe his or her strategy for maximizing the positive forces and minimizing the negative forces he or she has selected for each of the three forces. "Instructional Forces" will be postponed until the fourth week.
  • 3) Have the student determine specific, positive action steps that will support his or her strategy.
  • 4) Once the student has completed individually, place students in triads and have them discuss the responses they wish to share.
  • 5) Encourage students to regularly revisit their strategies and action steps to determine whether they are completing the process.
