13, 2007: Math Tools for
the Adult Education Teacher (Series of four trainings)
This multi-day workshop was developed by the South Central
Region GREAT Center
to provide the adult education practitioner with research
based techniques and strategies that will improve the
math skills of adult learners. Research conducted in
2003 by the National Assessment of Adult Literacy found
that nearly 50% of US adults have inadequate math and
Numeracy skills. With these alarming statistics, the
Office of Vocational and Adult Education understand the
importance of providing adult educators with necessary
tools to offer quality math instruction to adult learners.
