Cooperative Learning

Activity Overview:

The objective of this session is to provide the participants with strategies, processes and techniques they can implement in their classroom that will impact their student retention and student progress. Session focuses processes and strategies the participants can implement to ensure they are addressing students’ needs. Session emphasizes on incorporating interactive activities in the classroom.

Objectives:

This session will provide and model good instructional practices that highlight how to develop and incorporate various interactive activities that engage the learner and address content areas. Participants will be provided with a model for planning these lessons. This in turns assists with students meeting with success and staying longer in the program.

Instructional Activities:

There are numerous interactive activities throughout the session. Participants will be asked to do some readings, interpreting and sharing of these readings, both as individuals and in groups; reflecting on their persJune 3, 2008nd they will be asked to do group presentations with other participants.

Credential Project Information Session

Activity Overview:

The main objective is to introduce teachers to the Credential Model. How they can participate. How they can receive credit for required staff development. I expect to have several teachers apply to attend the Professional Development Planning Workshop (PDPW) because of the information they received.

Objectives:

  • The participant will learn about the Credential Project
  • The participant will understand registration process
  • The participant will learn the value the credential can have.

Instructional Activities:

There are no specific activities for the participant besides questions.
