September 23-24, 2010: Multi-Region (Central, Coastal, and South) GREAT Transitions Conference will be held at the Texas State University-Round Rock Higher Education Center, 1555 University Drive, Round Rock 78665. Current trends in demographics and economics place greater stress on education systems at all levels. As student demand for access to postsecondary academic and vocational/technical programs increases, institutions are in a position to choose those students they determine prepared to compete successfully. The definition of college readiness emerges as a topic of debate among education professionals in adult basic and postsecondary education. This conference brings together policy-makers, researchers and practitioners to further the conversation about postsecondary readiness for students who prepare to make the transition from adult education programs into academic or vocational programs at postsecondary institutions.
