Experience

  • TCALL Graduate Assistant - Research – since 2007
  • Bearkat Learning Community Coordinator- Supervised freshmen BLC students and coordinated study hours. Tutored and provided support for all BLC participants. Provided information on internal and external scholarships, research opportunities, student organizations, and study-abroad opportunities. (Sam Houston State University)
  • Bearkat Learning Community Peer Mentor- Lived in the BLC dormitories with BLC students. Provided mentoring for students regarding to stressors many freshman students encounter their first year in a university. Assisted with study-skill workshops and mandatory house dinners. (Sam Houston State University)
  • Even Start Student Assistant- Tutored GED and ESL students, assisted teachers/staff with clerical support, and tutored children with math, reading, and writing. (Huntsville, TX)

Current Duties/Roles with TCALL

  • Assist with development of new research projects under the guidance of TCALL Director and professional staff.
  • Conduct research activities related to ongoing or emerging research projects as assigned by the Director and staff; includes literature reviews, data entry and data analysis, writing research reports, conducting surveys, etc.
  • Assist with service activities of TCALL projects as needed.
