Teachers First's Election 2000

Provides teachers with a complete set of learning opportunities for students at any level. Topics include: People (a look at candidates and other key figures in congressional and presidential elections); Parties (the mainstream and the extreme - what they're saying, who listens, and what their impact might be); and Process (how our democracy works, who pays for it, how you can teach about it, and resources that can help).

La Cocina de Vida. (The Kitchen of Life)

Texas teacher Anson Green provides the draft curriculum created as part of a TEA funded project, and is being field tested and expanded with support from the NIFL. The curriculum was developed for women making the transition into the workplace from public assistance, oppressive relationships, or with low expectations of what work can offer them.

Parents & Children Together

The Family Literacy Center's magazine, Parents and Children Together, is now available online. The magazine's goal is "to further the cause of family literacy by bringing parents and children together through the magic of reading." It features original stories and articles on issues related to children's reading and writing and book reviews of recent children's literature.
