The Literacy Empowerment Foundation (LEF) is a non-profit group which will be distributing over 100,000 free books between September 1, 1999 and December 31, 1999. LEF has many programs designed to meet the needs of literacy programs in a variety of ways. For information, visit

Laubach Literacy announces the fifth year of the National Book Scholarship Fund (NBSF), a Laubach Literacy project which provides direct in-kind support to local literacy programs in the form of New Readers Press books and materials. To receive information about the NBSF grant, local programs can call Laubach Literacy 315-422-9121. Deadline for applications is December 8, 1999.
