Never Give UpI was born in 1961, in Indonesia. I came to the USA with my boss from Saudi Arabia in 1995. I lived in Oklahoma City where I worked as a babysitter until October of 1997. I ran away from them to Houston because the father of the family was not nice to me. A lady from the Indonesian consulate helped me to come to Houston. I could speak almost no English, but I had a girlfriend in Houston. I stayed with my friend for almost seven years. I met my husband in 2004 and now I’m living in Dayton, Texas with my husband. Before I got married, I didn’t speak English and now I’m going to school because I want to learn English better. It was so difficult for me to learn English, but I never gave up learning to speak English. I talked to my husband every day, and he helped me to practice my English. I read two books every day or the newspaper because I want to learn English better and better. The most important thing is never to give up. I am very happy to live in America. My family and I have many opportunities here. I’m thankful that we have a better life. |
