The Bureau of Adult Basic & Literacy Education (ABLE), a special project of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, has published The Pennsylvania ABLE Staff Handbook, 1998 Edition. It is available for download at http://www.cas.psu.edu/docs/pde/able/sh98.html. Program administrators and others involved in professional development "may find it useful to print out selected articles for use in workshops and training."

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has produced Technology @ Your Fingertips: A Guide to Implementing Technology Solutions for Education Agencies & Institutions. The complete text can be found at: http://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/

The Center for Literacy has a new publication, 1998 Student Speak Out, that contains a variety of student writings, such as poetry, autobiographies, and short stories. Contact the Clearinghouse at (800) 441-7323 for a copy.

The ERIC Clearinghouse on Adult, Career, and Vocational Education has recently published Technology, Basic Skills, and Adult Education: Getting Ready and Moving Forward.
