Professional Development: New Directions for Texas |
Directory of Texas Adult & Family Literacy ProvidersTCALL has completed major innovations in its online Directory of Adult & Family Literacy Providers in Texas. Go to TCALL's home page (http://www-tcall.tamu.edu) and click on Provider Directory on the lefthand side menu. From that page, the directory can be searched by city, county, or type of service provided (ABE, GED, ESL, Family Literacy, etc.) - as well as by program type (co-op, co-op affiliate, Even Start, EL Civics, LVA, local literacy council, First Lady's Family Literacy grantees, etc.). Other new features are two clickable maps. (Links to maps are at bottom of Provider Directory page.) One map shows the co-op areas, which you click on to see the fiscal agent for each area of the state. The other shows ALL the counties - you can click on a county and get every program in or providing service to that county, with co-op(s) listed first. (By the way, on that initial search results page, you can click on the organization's name to get more detailed information.) Thanks go to TCALL webmaster Melaney Moore-Dodson and graduate assistant Janet Chen for all their hard work on the directory and maps. |
