FOREWORD
The Advisory Board of the Texas Adult Literacy Clearinghouse is pleased to present this collection of articles published in Literacy Links between 1996 and 2003.
"Building on past experience" is cornerstone of effective instruction in Adult Basic Education, and we believe that this also holds true for staff and program development. Just as the life experiences of our students are valuable, we hope that the past experiences of instructors, administrators, and researchers presented in these articles will bring value to both the new as well as seasoned members of our field.
The articles in this
collection are as varied as the services we provide; from family
literacy to civics education and fostering connections to workforce
development. We know adult educators are busy people and we hope this
collection can be a one-stop resource for ongoing professional development.
