Extension of Texas State Plan for
Adult Education and Family Literacy

7.0 Public Participation and Comment (Sec. 224 (b) (9))

Comments are to be included in Appendix G and will be forwarded to USDOE upon receipt. Texas was unable to send the revision of the state plan for public comment until the governor sent his comments to TEA. Public comment will be taken by email for the revision.

7.1 Description of Activities

Comments will be encouraged when a copy of the approved Revised State Plan for Adult Education is posted to the Adult Education Email Discussion List and the Texas Center for the Advancement of Literacy and Learning (TCALL) website. Any comments will be forwarded to the USDOE DAEL. A draft copy was not appropriate to post and time did not permit posting before the deadline for a revised plan. (TCALL is the clearinghouse for Texas Adult Education and is funded with State Leadership Activity funds.)

7.2 Governor's Comments (Sec. 224 (d))

The Texas Governor's Office was represented on the state agency advisory group as referenced above and described under Further Information. The Texas State Plan for Adult Education was submitted to the Governor of Texas. TEA will transmit any comments regarding the plan to the Secretary of Education. These will be posted as Appendix H.
