Some of the instructions in the student book seemed to be written for the instructor. Also the directions in the teachers lesson plan were unclear. I wasn't sure if the student had to use all straws for the first attempt, all cotton balls for the next, all toothpicks for the second attempt or all the materials together. It was interesting to watch how one student tried to 'weave' the straws to make a basket to catch the egg. It was a fun activity but unfortunately we had to cut it short because of the time factor.

Lesson 3.3
Title of Lesson: Did not teach this lesson - We ran out of time.

Additional comments from conference calls: do now know exactly which lesson they apply to:

  • Module 3: Appropriate dress: page 2, last paragraph, 3rd sentence – Annie thinks it should read, “Observing a dress code, as well as paying attention to body odor” or something like that.
  • Module 3: Teamwork: Student book page 1 – The last two paragraphs read like teacher directions rather than student directions.  Similarly, Activity #2 wording may need to be changed.
