This TCALL/Adult
Literacy Clearinghouse-sponsored
discussion list is intended for anyone who is involved in the process of educating
an incarcerated adult. This includes basic education, higher education, and optional
betterment programs. TCALL welcomes subscribers from outside of Texas for their
experienced contributions, but this list will primarily target Texas correctional
educators.
Sharing and discussing problems, successes, suggestions, and ideas among novice and veteran instructors throughout the correctional setting, addressing that setting’s unique obstacles and teaching strategies;
Sharing current programs and practices to avoid duplication of services, toward the goal of creating a more efficient system for the offender through collaboration;
Providing a quick and efficient way to disseminate information from various stakeholders about conferences, professional development, and other state-wide concerns;
Providing a central point of distribution for information from Texas LEARNS and the Adult and Family Literacy Clearinghouse to correctional educators; and
Enabling the Clearinghouse to better provide services and resources to correctional educators as a result of input via the discussion list.
