The participants will study the rationale for the BEST Plus test and acquire sufficient mastery of the BEST Plus test to perform duties of a tester in administering, scoring, and interpreting the scores. August 6-7, 2007: Texas Association of Adult Literacy Councils (TAALC) State Conference. READ, WRITE, LEARN is the theme of this year’s conference. Networking opportunities and workshops will include such topics as community literacy, basic literacy, ESL & GED instruction, marketing your program to potential funders, program management, health literacy, and more. August 6-8, 2007: Using the National Assessment of Adult Literacy Data File and Tools For Research, Secondary Analyses and Policy Development (NAAL Data Set Training) will be hosted by NCES in Washington, DC. This "advanced studies seminar" is open to institutional researchers and planners, education practitioners, policymakers, and association members, as well as faculty and advanced graduate students from colleges and universities nationwide. August 7, 2007: GED Testing Accommodations and Adaptations. This hour-long Webinar will be hosted by National Association for Adults with Special Learning Needs (NAASLN) from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Central Time, with a repeat session from 1:00 to 2:00 Central Time. Participation requires a computer and a telephone, occurs in “real time” with Q&A, provides certificate of attendance, and costs $20.00 for NAASLN members and $30.00 for non-members.
